The topic of the research assignment is adults and crisis; copying with the crisis with and without a religion. Whether the religion is the best way for the adults to cope with the crisis, and what role does Godplay in the process of coping with crisis, is it necessary to help in the crisis overcoming.
The main purpose of this research is to study the way the religion influence adults and helps them to cope with the stress and crisis. The question of religion is very disputable, there are a lot of works devoted to it. According to Cavanaugh and Blanchard-Fields (2006), attitude to religion and God plays very important role in life of the adult person. Those adults who have respect to religion and God deal with the stress and crisis easier. Religion and faith is able to help people morally and give the necessary inspiration. Moreover, those adults who are inspired by religion are more self-assured and equable. Such a research should give insights into the works of Bjorklund (2008) and Kaufman (1994), considering the connection between religion and adulthood. The belief in the existence of God helps to overcome difficulties and stay more resistant to crisis and difficulties. In addition, this study will test the value of a religion (the comparative approach) in life of the adults in respect to certain conditions. Religion oriented adults are able to show more respect and sympathy to other people, living in the same conditions (Hunt, 2005).
The current research is proposed to be conducted based on the cross-sectional approach. The participants of the approach are divided into two small groups, five people in each. The first group of adults are very religious and devotional, while the other group of adults considers religion to be useless. During the research periods, both groups will be supposed to live in hard and very stressful conditions, being an inevitable part of their everyday life. According to the above-mentioned theories, in the end of the study period, the representatives of the first group should stay more moderate and stress-resistant, while the second group should demonstrate great mean-spiritedness and abandonment.
In the conclusion, the researches have to prove the value of the theory stating positive influence of religion on lives of adults and their abilities to cope with the crisis and stress.
